Follow these ten FREE brilliant tips and more when you do the FREE taster exercise

  1. No matter what you are doing take a few moments to answer this question: "What do I want from this interaction and can I get it in an easier or quicker way?"
  2. From now on keep asking: "Can anyone else do this for me?". Don't worry if you think you don't have people to delegate to - you'll see in the workshop how you have more delegatees than you think.
  3. Make more effort to escape from meetings. Explain in detail how you could do something instead that would be a valuable help to the boss, client or team/department.
  4. When you hear the word "report" get into the habit of thinking, "Is there another way I could get the client/boss the information he/she requires?" Perhaps a short memo or oral report would have more impact.
  5. Be more firm - but polite. Consciously keep bringing the person you're speaking to back to what you want or to what he/she wants from you.
  6. Use an answer machine to filter telephone calls and take messages. It's now good business practice to do this.
  7. Keep your mobile telephone switched off most of the time and DON'T give out your number to everyone. There are some exceptions we'll discuss in the workshop.
  8. Don't waste time reading instruction manuals for everyday domestic and office equipment. Get someone - anyone to help and explain things to you.
  9. Turn all your tasks - even domestic ones into "projects". Set an objective and break projects into several small steps each with a completion date.
  10. When you're struggling to start a task, trick your subconscious by saying, "I'll do just five-minute's worth - that's all - just five minutes then I'll stop". Guess what happens? Once you've started you feel okay about continuing.
